Does anyone believe in marriage vows anymore?

I am saddened by this. I truly do not know the whole story but why can't a family stay together. I get it, it was hard, they have 8 kids for crying out loud. But so many people before our time had large families including my mother-in-law and her 10 siblings. This wasn't even a question, there were raised to love, cherish and respect FAMILY! Can we get back there?
